We recognize that the success of caring for our community only comes from the richness of the care provided by our team members. We enjoy learning more about those who are part of the Hospice of the Chesapeake family.
We are excited to spotlight employees who have long served our patients and families, employees who have just recently joined our team and those who have roles that might be hidden from our everyday view.
And with that said, we are happy to introduce our Director of Information Services Chet Evans, who started with our nonprofit organization in June 2015. Here are his answers to a few of our questions.
What’s your favorite part about working at Hospice of the Chesapeake?
“Being a part of helping patients and families during a difficult time. The support IT contributes to that effort brings me satisfaction. Sometimes it is in ways that you wouldn’t think.”
What’s something you wish more people knew about your job?
“I want people to know that I am here to provide the necessary electronic tools for them to do their jobs. We try to make everyone happy, but sometimes we have to look at what people need vs what they want and whether we have the budget for it.”
“COVID-19 has impacted me by making me work from home! Most IT people are introverts but I really miss having that personal interaction with people.”
How has COVID-19 impacted you?
“Working from home! Most IT people are introverts but I really miss having that personal interaction with people. Microsoft Teams is okay, but I just would like that face to face. As much as I miss being in the building, I do want to make sure when we do open that things are done in the right way and procedures followed. .”
What are you most proud of in your career ?
Having the opportunity to work with awesome people.
We would like to thank Chet for his dedication to our patients and families and for supporting all that we do each and every day to care for our community. If you’re interested in joining our team, please visit hospicechesapeake.org/careers.
