Sandra Dillon serves as the Vice President of Strategic Communications and Advocacy for Hospice of the Chesapeake and its affiliate brands which include Chesapeake Supportive Care, Chesapeake Life Center, Chesapeake Kids, and Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation.  Dillon joined the Hospice of the Chesapeake leadership team in 2010 after serving on the volunteer Board of Directors for several years and was promoted to Vice President in May 2024.  Dillon oversees all aspects of strategic communications, branding, traditional and social media, public relations, legislative affairs, marketing, community outreach & advocacy, and employee communications for the organization which serves approximately 600 hospice patients per day in Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland.  Hospice of the Chesapeake is the largest independent not-for-profit organization in Maryland.

Previous to her current role, Dillon held several positions with Comcast Communications in Anne Arundel County including serving as the Communications Manager from 2002 to 2010.  While serving in the communications role, she managed more than $1 million in cash donation budgets and $3 million of in-kind partnerships with close to 175 nonprofit organizations locally.  During this time, she served as the local producer for Comcast’s interview program which ran on CNN Headline News, and managed the employee communications program for close to 500 employees throughout the MD/DE region.

In addition to her business roles, Dillon has been a very active local advocate and currently serves on the Board of Directors for LeadingAGE Maryland.  Over the last 15 years, Dillon has served on numerous boards of directors including the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services Advisory Board and the YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County.  In 2007, Dillon received an appointment by State of Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley to serve on the inaugural term of the School Board Nominating Commission of Anne Arundel County where she assisted in the establishment of the initial guidelines and process for the School Board Nominating Commission.

Dillon holds a Certified Nonprofit Executive certification from the National Association of Nonprofit Organizations & Executives.  She is a 2007 Leadership Anne Arundel Flagship graduate, a YWCA TWIN honoree, and a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County.
